Lately, I've thought of forming a blog group calling it, "The Sisterhood of Bloggers." Since I have tried to write a blog each month about writing and what's happenning in my writing life, I thought that maybe each member could share the blog for their web site and if we were ten in a group, that would mean each member would get ten blogs before it would be her time to write another blog.
To me, a blog is personal. I try to write something about what I am doing with my writing life; how I deal with writer's block, revisions and naming characters. I do have some favorite names for my characters in each of my books.
I know that each author has different hours for their writing and we have different genres, but basically we all have something in common; the times we write, our expeiences and connecting with our readers.
I think the benefits of sharing a blog would be numerous. It's like being a part of a conversation with the rest of the writers involving all ten in the group. We get to know each other and to form friendships, learn about each other's books, and about thier booksignings and conferences they have attended. This is a way to keep in touch
Another benefit of the group is that we each get to rest our brain. After working on my books all day, I like to take a break and watch a movie or read other author's books. Because I have made a New Year's resolution; write two books a month, this would be great for me to rest my brain.
It's not always easy writing a meaninful blog every month. When you have help from a group, it's easy. And you can develope a decade of friendships and support.
